Frequently Asked Questions

What should clients know about working with you?
I believe therapy shouldn't feel sterile or strictly clinical. Drawing from my background in occupational therapy and community mental health, I bring a practical, functional approach to helping address your psychological health. We work things out together, in the context of your life - your daily routines, your environment, and your immediate realities. Whether you are a first responder navigating occupational stress or an individual dealing with complex trauma, my goal is to collaborate with you to build resilience and practical coping strategies so you can engage fully in your life.
Do you offer free consultation calls?
Yes, I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation. This provides an opportunity for us to connect, discuss your needs, and ensure that I am the right fit for you before committing to a full session.
Do you have experience working with First Responders?
Yes. A significant portion of my practice over the past 10+ years has been dedicated to First Responder Care and individuals in trauma-exposed professions. I understand the unique occupational stressors, stigma, and cumulative trauma associated with these roles, and use evidence-based therapies like Prolonged Exposure to support recovery safely.
Where do you offer therapy sessions?
I am based in Edmonton, Alberta and offer flexible options to best suit your comfort and needs. I see clients for In-Person Walking Meetings outdoors at my location, or completely online through Secure Virtual Sessions accessible across Canada. Please note: other community locations and home visits include additional fees for travel time.
Are your services covered by insurance?
As a Registered Occupational Therapist, my mental health services are covered by most extended health benefit plans under the "Occupational Therapy" category. I provide detailed receipts after every session which you can submit to your provider for reimbursement, and anything not covered is tax-deductable.
